Your Mac's storage,
finally explained, and cleaned.

Crumb is a menu-bar app for macOS that finds what is filling your disk, tells you what is safe to delete, and clears only what you approve.

Free to try, with one full cleanup included. macOS 12 or later. Which Mac do I have?

People in more than 34 countries use Crumb.

  • Read-only scanNothing changes until you say so.
  • Only what you tick goesEvery item shows its size and why.
  • Private and localNo account. Your files stay on your Mac.
  • Built for your chipNative downloads for Apple silicon and Intel.

Three steps, and you approve each one.

  1. 1

    Scan

A read-only scan maps where your space went: caches, logs, developer data, apps and duplicates. Nothing is touched.

  2. 2

    Review

Every item shows its size and what it is. Untick anything you want to keep, and ask Safe? about anything you are unsure of.

  3. 3

    Free space

Crumb removes only what you approved, then shows exactly how much space came back.

Six tools, one menu-bar app.

Everything a full disk needs, in the app you already have one click away.

Free Space

Scans caches, logs, build artifacts and package caches, then totals what you can safely reclaim before you commit to anything.

Visualize

Ranks your biggest folders so you can see where the space went, with a Safe? check on every row.

Uninstall

Removes apps together with the support files, caches and preferences they leave behind when you drag them to the Trash.

Duplicates

Finds identical files anywhere on your Mac and keeps one copy of each. You choose what goes.

Organize

Sorts a messy folder like Downloads into tidy folders by type, and shows you the plan before a single file moves.

Is this safe to delete?

Point Crumb at any folder and it explains what it is, whether it regenerates, and what breaks if it goes.

macOS tells you the disk is full. Crumb tells you why.

Built to be trusted with your disk.

Read-only until you say so

Scanning never changes a file. Nothing is removed until you approve the plan.

Private and local

The scan runs on your Mac. No account, no sign-in, and your files never leave it.

Your own files stay protected

Documents, photos and other personal folders are never on the list it ticks for you.

Questions, answered.

Is my data private?
Yes. The scan runs on your Mac and the contents of your files never leave it. There is no account, no sign-in and no cloud profile. The optional AI safety check sends only scrubbed file names and metadata, never file contents; the privacy policy has the details.
Which download do I need?
Open the Apple menu and choose About This Mac. If it lists a Chip with an Apple M-series name, take the Apple silicon download; if it lists a Processor made by Intel, take the Intel one. Both are version 3.0.0.
Does it work on Apple Silicon?
Yes. Crumb runs natively on Apple Silicon (M-series) Macs and on Intel Macs, on macOS 12 or later, with a separate download for each. Each installer is about 5 MB.
What is System Data on Mac?
System Data (formerly "Other") is the catch-all category macOS shows in Settings, Storage. It bundles caches, logs, swap files, temporary files and assorted leftovers, and Apple won't itemize it for you, which is why it can grow to dozens or even hundreds of gigabytes. Crumb finds the reclaimable parts, such as caches, logs and developer data, and shows their sizes so you can safely free up space on your Mac. More in our guide to Mac storage full.
Is Crumb a subscription?
No. Crumb is a one-time purchase of $9. Pay once and it's yours forever, with no recurring fees. It unlocks everything, including unlimited cleanups, Uninstall, Duplicates and Organize, on up to 2 Macs. There is also a free version with a full scan and one cleanup.
How do refunds work?
If Crumb isn't right for you, email hello@cleanwithcrumb.com within 7 days of your purchase and we'll issue a full refund.
Will cleaning break anything?
Crumb only removes what you approve, and it focuses on data that rebuilds itself, such as caches, logs and build artifacts. The scan is read-only, every item shows its size before anything happens, and the Safe? check explains what a folder is and whether it comes back. If you are unsure about an item, leave it unticked.
